West Bengal Joint Entrance for Lateral Entry

Exam Paper

The JELET exam, administered by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB), provides another opportunity for students to gain admission into the 2nd year (3rd semester) of certain four-year degree programs. Specifically, this applies to Engineering, Technology, and Pharmacy courses under the lateral entry scheme. This examination serves as a second chance for those who were not granted admission during their first application.

JELET is a pen-and-paper exam consisting of 100 questions, intended to be completed within 120 minutes. Its syllabus adheres to the diploma level set by the WBJEEB, applicable to various programs. To prepare, candidates should familiarize themselves with past exam papers. By undertaking the daily practice of these questions, candidates will gain insights into the pattern of the JELET exam and the nature of its questions.

Marking Scheme

Category I - 1 mark will be given for every correct answer. ¼ marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
Category II - 2 marks will be allotted for marking all correct options. For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options, the said answer will be treated as incorrect, and it will yield zero. For partially correct answers, i.e., when all correct options are not marked and also no incorrect options are marked, then the marks awarded will be = 2 x (no of correct options marked/total number of actually correct options).
