Application Process

The WB JELET application form was made available online by the concerned authorities in December. Candidates applying were required to input personal, academic, and communication details throughout the process. Only candidates who duly submitted the JELET application form prior to the deadline, in January, were considered eligible to partake in the entrance examination. In addition, candidates had the option to choose their preferred examination center while filling out the JELET application. The option to make corrections in the application was open from January onwards.

Ques. Does JELET impose any age restrictions?
Ans. According to the eligibility criteria for JELET, diploma holders in Engineering, Pharmacy, or Technology do not have any age restriction. Meanwhile, those with a B.Sc. degree are eligible up to the age of 27 years. The age limit for a Diploma in Marine Engineering is 25 years.

Ques. What is the maximum number of test centers that I can select prior to taking the WBJEE JELET examination?
Ans. Applicants have the option to select a maximum of two examination centers prior to participating in the WBJEE JELET exam.

Ques. What is the objective behind carrying out JELET?
Ans. The Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET) is organized to select students for entry into the second year or third semester of Bachelor's degree programs in fields such as Engineering, Technology, and Pharmacy. However, this does not include Architecture. The examination is applicable for both government and private colleges within West Bengal.

Ques. Is a candidate possessing a BSc degree eligible to apply for JELET?
Ans. Certainly, an individual who has accomplished a BSc degree, securing a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for individuals of the reserved category), is eligible to apply for JELET. However, the precondition is, they must have cleared their Class 12, having Mathematics as a paramount subject.
