One of the most significant aspects of the TNPSC Group 4 test is the curriculum. The TNPSC Group 4 syllabus has the following four sections: General Studies/ Aptitude and Mental Ability test/
General English/ General Tamil.

Exam Pattern 
The TNPSC Group 4 Exam will be held in a paper-and-pencil format. This test comprises of three parts: Mental Ability/Aptitude, General Studies, and General English/ Tamil.
Apart from answering the General Studies and Aptitude & Mental Ability Test portions, candidates are given the choice of selecting either General Tamil or General English from the third segment. The TNPSC Group 4 test has no negative marking.
o    General Studies - Total number of Questions: 75    
o    Aptitude and Mental Ability - Total number of Questions:    25
o    General Tamil/ General English - Total number of Questions: 100
The TNPSC Group 4 paper has 300 questions and lasts three hours. Candidates must get more than the minimal qualifying marks. For all categories, the minimum qualifying mark is 90.
